Welcome to our new Design Director, Matteo Melioli

February 21, 2024

This month we are pleased to announce the appointment of Matteo Melioli as T2S Architecture's design director, in an move that consolidates our recent growth and welcomes considerable design experience into the studio.

Melioli, 48, graduated as an architect from Università IUAV in Venice and was also awarded an MSc in Civil Engineering from Padua University before moving to London in 1999. There, he received his ARB accreditation in 2001 and RIBA in 2005 and progressed his studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.

Melioli's previous experience includes roles with Eric Kuhne Associates, Sir Terry Farrell & Associates and Zaha Hadid Architects as architect, senior architect, and project architect respectively. Most recently, Melioli worked as senior design architect at Collado Collins Architects, London, on a variety of mixed-use and private residential projects.

Tom Slater, our managing director, welcomed Melioli to the practice, saying, "I'm delighted that Matteo has accepted the role as our new design director. His vision, insight, and passion for urban design will be as important to us as his extensive experience across a great variety of roles and projects. We believe this signifies the importance we place on good quality design in our practice."

Melioli said, "When I first met Tom and the team at T2S and saw their work, I knew immediately that this was a practice that championed design and looked after its people. Our ideas about the purpose and function of architecture, and the character of future urban living, are very similar, and I look forward to expressing these through designs that are elegant, trustworthy and believable, and that will work for our clients and the wider community."
