The client purchased this brownfield piece of infill land in a commuter belt town centre within the M26 perimeter.
Fronting the main road is a 1960's type apartment building with a rear external staircase forming deck access. Beyond this, the land remains empty but surrounded by mid height developments which offered a clear development oppurtunity.
T2S were engaged to develop proposals for tbe refurbishment of the front building and potental for a secondary building to the rear. We developed a courtyard style proposal, creating an 'L' shaped external to the front block, which connects with a rear block of similar height.
This creates a inward looking scheme of 3 facades, all sharing a central landscaped space.
